From Early Beginnings to Figure Skating Mastery
Danny O'Shea's journey in figure skating began at a tender age, and it's a story that truly inspires. "I started skating when I was just 4 years old," Danny reminisces. "My family had moved to the Chicagoland area, and my parents were desperately trying to deal with all the energy their 4 y.o. son had, so they put me in learn to skate classes while my brother Keane was playing Hockey."
Danny's early experiences on the ice were marked by enthusiasm and a love for performing. "The group classes all participated in the Holiday Ice show, and because I was the only boy in our group, for symmetry, my coach had me in the middle. Overconfident 4 y.o. me was convinced that I must be pretty darn good at this!"
From those early days, Danny's passion for the sport only grew. He balanced figure skating with a multitude of other sports, showcasing an incredible versatility. "When I was young, figure skating was just one of my many sports including football, basketball, baseball, soccer, track and field, and martial arts. I don’t know how my mom managed it, but I will forever be grateful!"

Danny's list of accomplishments in figure skating is impressive. "I am honestly incredibly proud of my multiple national Championships and my overall resilience in the sport over the past 10+ years competing on Team USA. Most recently, I am incredibly proud of the junior pair athletes I have had the opportunity to work with who were 2nd and 3rd in the world this past year."
His dedication to coaching has not only helped his athletes achieve remarkable success but has also deepened his understanding of the sport. "Coaching has helped me have a deeper understanding of my sport and continues to help me improve as an athlete too."
